How to open a link in the LG TV web browser

Open the Web Browser app on your LG TV, go to kkll.li, and scan the QR code with your phone. Send the link from your phone, then select Open on the TV.

What you need

  • An LG TV with the webOS Web Browser app.
  • Internet access on the TV and on your phone. They do not need to be on the same network.
  • A phone that can scan QR codes with its camera.

Steps

  1. Open the TV browser. From the home screen, launch the Web Browser app.
  2. Go to the TV address. Type kkll.li in the address bar and wait for the QR code. Bookmark the page to skip typing next time.
  3. Scan and send. Scan the QR code with your phone camera, paste your link and tap Send.
  4. Open on the TV. Select Open on the TV. No LG ThinQ app or account is needed.

Why typing URLs on an LG TV is slow

The webOS Web Browser has a normal address bar, but you fill it in with an on-screen keyboard. With a Magic Remote you point at each key; with a standard remote you step through the keyboard with the arrow buttons. A long link with mixed case and symbols is easy to get wrong.

Typing kkll.li once and bookmarking it means the only thing you enter with the remote is a short address. The long link is pasted on your phone instead.

What the LG web browser can and cannot do

The link opens in the Web Browser app, not in apps installed on the TV. A YouTube or Netflix link opens that website rather than the LG app, and some streaming sites do not support TV browsers at all.

The browser is updated with webOS, so its features and the sites it can play differ between TV model years.

Troubleshooting

No QR code appears on the TV
Check that the TV is online and that you typed kkll.li exactly. Older TV browsers may not support the features sendlinktotv.com needs; if the page keeps showing “Connecting…”, try another device with a newer browser.
The page opens but the video does not play
Playback depends on the website and the TV browser. Some services, including Netflix, do not support TV web browsers. Try the same link in the TV browser directly to confirm.
The site is blocked or asks me to sign in on the TV
The TV opens the link with its own internet connection and its own logins. Your phone’s VPN, accounts and cookies are not transferred, and sendlinktotv.com cannot bypass network or regional blocks.
